Carl has over 12 years of experience working in orthopaedics, sports injuries and work-related musculoskeletal injuries. He finished his Bachelor of Physiotherapy education in Malta in 2004, then moved to Canada to continue his education. He first studied at Queen’s University, where he completed a Masters in Rehabilitation Science where he specialized in knee and back injuries. He subsequently completed a Sports Physiotherapy fellowship at the University of Western Ontario, followed by a Masters in Manipulative Therapy in 2012. This has helped him to use advanced manual therapy skills, including manipulation, to improve mobility and function. He is also trained in using Gunn IntraMuscular Stimulation (IMS) which he completed at UBC in 2013.
Carl continues to take numerous courses to improve his skills and looks forward to complete more functional therapy and movement courses to help patients move better, get stronger and function more effectively in their daily environment. He has taken a number of continuing education courses including Graston techniques (IASTM), Assessment and prevention of running injuries, Osteopathic techniques for back and neck dysfunction, acupuncture training and Exercise Specialization for neck pain. Carl has worked with a number of sport teams and have treated professional athletes throughout his career. Numerous sports in different injuries that included football, soccer, UFC, rugby, volleyball, basketball and running.
Besides working, he loves to play soccer, enjoys traveling and trying different Sushi in BC.
