Registered Physiotherapist
Sunny graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science (HBSc) degree in 2009. She later completed her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy (MScPT) degree from Queen’s University in 2012. Since then, Sunny has worked in private clinics in Ontario and British Columbia, where she gained clinical experience with WorkSafe BC and ICBC injuries, as well as return-to-work planning and Active Rehabilitation programs. Sunny’s treatment philosophy is based on functional outcome with a strong focus on finding and correcting the root cause of orthopedic problems instead of only treating the symptoms.
Sunny is certified to practice acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute, and she is a certified evaluator for Functional Capacity Evaluations. Sunny also has additional post-graduate training in gait analysis, concussion management, neuro-proproceptive taping, soft tissue release, neck and low back pain management, and chronic pain management. She is in the process of furthering her manual therapy certification levels. Sunny’s other professional interests include teaching and leadership development. She has been a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association since 2010, and currently sits on the Executive Committee of the Leadership Division as the Secretary. Sunny also enjoys mentoring physiotherapy students and new grads to help them transition into the practice field.
On the weekends, Sunny can be found exploring mountain ranges for peak hiking, as well as skiing, running, swimming, and participating in local city events. Sunny enjoys watching movies, playing the piano, and catching up with family and friends.
